Easy Rider öcsém, tudtad?
Wiki határozott dátumokkal játszik, de a leirásban már bizonytalan a születés és halál időpontjában. Bizonytalan, voltak feleségei, gyermekei? Vakon született, esetleg fiatal korában birkózó volt és közben vesztette el látását? Ami biztos, a texasi Coutchman faluból jőtt a fiatal fekete utca zenész Lemon Henry Jefferson. Dalolta és pengette a gospelt és a bluest ugy, hogy a kor meghatározó előadói -Leadbelly, T-Bone Walker, Arthel "Doc" Watson, Blind Blake és Ma Rainey, stb.-vele akatak játszani, felvételt késziteni. Lemezei "hirhedten" rossz minőségben a Paramount Records -nál készültek, a kevés elfogadható minőségü felvétele az OKeh Records -nál. 29 telén megmérgezték, lelőtték rablás közben, megfagyott vagy valami egyéb (az összes létező forrás mást ir...) okból elhunyt Chicagóban. Testét a Paramount költségén szállitották -majd nem- szülőfalujába. A közeli Wortham Negro temetőjében nyugodott jelöletlen sirban egészen 1967-ig. Azóta a temető neve megváltozott Blind Lemon Memorial temetőre. Élete 36 éve alatt olyan stilust teremtett, ami a mai napig meghatározó egész sor zenész számára BB King-től Teen Years-ig, Bob Dylan-től a Grateful Dead -ig. (Van olyan -technikailag feljavitott- felvétele, ami a közelmultban felkerült egy Rock válogatás albumra.)
Elképzelem, ahogy a hordár molnárkán tolja a koporsót a zsufolt állomáson, a mozdonyból kitörő olajos gőz szaga...
